Introducing…..Fievel the Mouse!!
Dog, I mean dog.
Mouse-dog.
Dog-mouse.
Actually, he looks a little more like a teeny tiny itsy bitsy FOX.

Rick and I advised against getting him.

Then we met him and fell in love….

…wasn’t talking about boys anymore, or dating, or wanting to see anyone or meet anyone, and the only thing left to say was…

Tonight is 3 weeks since it started snowing. We had one day that it actually rained and tried to melt the snow, but it has snowed every day otherwise, including this evening when it was practically white-out conditions. I’ve been dying to get out with my camera. My brother in law Matt gave me a subscription to a photography magazine and some camera gadgets for Christmas, and I’m inspired, enthused, and motivated. But….I don’t pull my camera from the bag in rain or snow. The one day I did get it out in snow, the day Rick and I walked to the market when we were snowed in, I fell and braced my fall with both hands, including the hand my camera was in. The snow was so deep there was no crashing the camera, but water…snow is just frozen water, and water is very bad for cameras….so I am extrememly photography-deprived right now!!!
Here are a few indoor photos I’ve taken recently:

Bosco, hates the camera: worse than Hannah

Best way to get a haircut: in your own home, by your daughter, with a glass of wine in hand

Maggie, on alert and ready to work

My Christmas tree through the bottom of a wine glass
Yes, I’d had a couple martinis. Made by the one and only:

The Mix-Master, who shall remain nameless

Don't call the paramedic; he IS one.
The last time Jim tried that, he went home with a bloody lip. He asked for it and he’s on his own, as far as I’m concerned. (To be fair to Bosco, he didn’t mean to hurt him, but no one should be trying to feed a dog from his mouth. Does this concern you as much as it does me? You know, that he’s a paramedic and all…?)

See Christmas Post. This is what I was talking about.

...And This.
Spring is coming. I can feel it.
Well, actually, all I feel is snow in the forcast. But come June, Spring will be here!

And look who came with him:
Meet Sahara. She is a very sweet 7 month old Alaskan Husky, who was born in sub-zero temperatures and almost didn’t live. Because of an injury at birth she’ll never pull a sled, so Josh was able to bring her home as a pet. She is the sweetest thing, quiet and loving, VERY energetic, tall and lanky. I guess you could say she’s my Granddog.
Pathetic, I know.

BEFORE:
And really, can you blame them?
BUT…Rick suggested this a couple weeks ago. I was completely against it. Today Abbie and I took them to Bailey’s Bath House. It’s a DIY dog grooming/bathing place. Very cool, and very cheap way to groom your dogs. We walked in the door and the owner asked if we were there to bathe them or clip them. Abbie and I looked at each other and decided on the spot to “clip” them. It really means shave them bald. Naked. Bosco turned out better than Maggie. She was so traumatized, that by the time we got to her head, we decided to make it look as symmetrical as possible and leave it.
On the way home I changed my mind. I only want to bathe them.

CAT’s DIARY :
Day 983 of my captivity.
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets.
Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape.
In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.
Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a ‘good little hunter’ I am.
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of ‘allergies.’ I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow — but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.
The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released – and seems to be more than willing to return.
He is obviously retarded.
