The Pepera Family

A couple days ago I had the privilege of taking pictures of a young family at Elizabeth Park. We’d been waiting for a sunny Saturday, checking in by phone and facebook each week as it got close to the weekend, and although the weather was frustrating, their patience paid off.

I love this family.

Hanging out with them for an hour or two is like a time-warp. Their kids are the same spread and genders as ours (I think theirs are even closer in age), and watching the boys play together and with their Dad brought back very sweet memories for me.

This was the picture (more or less) we were going for:

But it took going through all of these to get it: (I love looking at these back to back:  Jennifer, The essence of all things positive about  motherhood, looks completely confident in each picture that her darling offspring and her prince charming are all compliant and cooperating with the camera)

Amidst moments of hilarity and laughter…

…I was able to witness  moments of tenderness between parent and child:

There was mentoring in a spitting contest:

I had a great time hanging out with the Pepera family, watching them, playing with them, and witnessing a family that really adores each other!
