So, yesterday WordPress.com sent out an email to all of us wordpress bloggers with a challenge to either join ‘post a day’ or ‘post a week’ for 2011. I had already thought of trying the photo a day challenge, but hadn’t committed yet, so this intrigued me. If you follow my blog you know I tried this daily post this year with a theme, on my Love, Linda blog, and that petered out…although I still have a link to it because I love the idea and keep thinking I’ll start up again. However, “in this life of ours” is still my one true Blog Love, and I already post at least once a week, so I am declaring here and now, publicly to all my 20-30 daily blog fans that I am taking up this challenge!
The people at WordPress were even nice enough to provide us a template to use to declare in a post our intentions:
“Title: I’m Posting every day in 2011!
I’ve decided I want to blog more. Rather than just thinking about doing it, I’m starting right now. I will be posting on this blog once a day / once a week for all of 2011.
I know it won’t be easy, but it might be fun, inspiring, awesome and wonderful. Therefore I’m promising to make use of The DailyPost, and the community of other bloggers with similiar goals, to help me along the way, including asking for help when I need it and encouraging others when I can.
If you already read my blog, I hope you’ll encourage me with comments and likes, and good will along the way.
I realize I’m suppose to edit this and make it my own, but I really liked the exact way they wrote it and didn’t want to take away from it’s generic uniqueness.
So, here it is:
This is me, Lindalou, in wordpress blogland letting you know that I plan to publish a post every single day for a year starting tomorrow, January 1, 2011 (technically, I guess I’ve started today, December 31, 2010, but this is about 2011). I can’t promise to be funny every day, and I can’t promise to write at length every day (you’re welcome), and maybe just a photo or two sometimes, but I do promise to post every day. Lucky for me I have wordpress on my phone and can blog on my way to work.
Linda Louise Atkins
p.s. see you tomorrow
