Smile

I love this picture. We were in Tijuana in 1998 building a house for a little family who lived in a Coleman tent. During “ministry” time some of the kids were clowns, including Josh and Abbie and our dear friend Willow. In this little skit there is only one smile and the clown who had it would throw it to another clown, who would smile. You can see in this picture that Josh had just ‘caught’ the smile and now Willow doesn’t have it. It was great fun watching them and the neighborhood children loved it. I love Abbie’s face, staying in character, but even in this grainy scan, you can see around her eyes that she’s smiling. I think the point of this sketch was to share joy with others? Or maybe it was way more spiritual than that went right over my head. Regardless,

…it makes me smile.
