Spring Chicken

Almost 20 years ago Rick and I moved to Bellingham. There are millions of things I love about living here, not the least of which is this:

mullens
A few weeks after moving here from Vancouver Washington Marc and Nan’s family invited ours to Mount Baker for a day of wild blue berry picking and a picnic.

Marc and Nan Mullen were our first friends when we moved here and they have remained two of our closest friends since. We get together several times a year for dinner at a favorite restaurant, and then usually meet up at their place for a glass of wine and continued conversation in a quieter place. We’ve laughed together, cried together, prayed together. Some of the richest times I know have been spent with these people.

Today is Nan’s birthday.

You’ll always be a spring chicken to me, Nan!
Happy Birthday!

  1. Wow, I just saw this! How sweet … and how PRIVILEGED to have made your blog! : ) Think of ALL that’s transpired since the day we first met and you became our neighbors! Never, in a million years, would we have guessed ALL that He had in store for us as friends.

Thanks for the memories, the sweet blog and photo of our families. You are precious and you made my day extra sweet.

    I love you, Linda.
    Nan
