One year ago today I met the Pioneer Woman, in person at her book signing for her cookbook. It was a fun day I spent with my friend Theresa. I’ll always be glad I went, because I’ll forever get to say I met Ree Drummand, spent the day with one of the most wonderful women I’ve ever known, and got my cookbook signed.
But what continues to make that day memorable and amazing is how a little comment I posted on Ree Drummond’s blog that morning was seen by a young woman in Bellingham named Cutzi Jobes, who immediately friend requested me on facebook, told me she too is a blogger, and thus began a year long relationship of stalking each other’s facebooks and blogs, until we FINALLY started seeing each other socially last month when we realized we not only have Pioneer Woman, blogging, facebook, and the way we eat in common, but we also share the same wonderful First Day Of Spring Birthday!
And that was when we first spent an evening together, with other women of all ages, eating, enjoying drinks, making guacamole, and just enjoying a night out.
Then, this weekend Rick and I had a fun date night with our friends John and Debbie at a brand new Mexican place in town, El Agave, and who ends up sitting at the table next to us???
So, all this to say, Happy Birthday to a friendship that started one year ago today, and one that I hope will grow by leaps and bounds in the coming months and years!
All because I posted a comment to the Pioneer Woman welcoming her to Seattle and letting her know I hoped to meet her that afternoon. Thanks for coming Ree, and thanks for connecting me with my friend Cutzi.
P.S. We all kind of knew we were all going to be there that night, since I blared it all over facebook, and then they did too, but none of us said what time, and it all worked out perfectly. (For my blog)
