Christmas Gathering

Last night was the Atkins Family Christmas. Even with so many missing, (Phil and Paul, Lael, Lynsey, Kate, Marty and Bridged) it still managed to be fun and filled with noise and laughter. We skyped with Marty and Bridged and Kate in Zurich, Switzerland, and were endlessly entertained by Nora’s energy! It’s so fun to have little ones at Christmas again!

Doesn’t Rick look dashing in this shirt Marty brought him last summer from Napal?

Evie was passed around.

And don’t we just look like a dream of a couple?

Don’t be fooled. We were actually having a power struggle over where to place our hands. Rick was trying to push my hand away, but whoever caught this shot (Joey, I think) caught it just right!

Did I mention Evie got passed around? And Megan’s not wearing some weird Christmas headband, that’s just the top of the Christmas tree growing out of her head.

My turn!

Poor Abbie. Next Christmas will be better.

Lots of chatting

And of course Christmas goodies…

Which Nora was very interested in!

Like all children, Nora loves to open presents, even if they aren’t hers. She cracked us up helping everyone open their gifts.

Laura and I reminisced about all the Christmases we spent with all the kids lined up taking turns opening their gifts. With things changing so fast now, kids getting married and grandbabies coming, I’m so glad to have had so many years of shared memories and I look forward to what the changes in our families bring!

  1. Looks like lots and lots of fun and festivity — so colorful and beautiful to see so many together! Christmas has blossomed even bigger in our hearts already just since little “Kath-Ron Grace” showed up all of a sudden!! YaY (You understand where that spelling spoof is coming from on her name!) LOved your post on that matter so much! Merry Christmas
