Food Photography: How Not To

Start out with good intentions of the pie, from start to finish.
Get distracted by that face, those eyes, that long hair.

Remember to get the shot of the secret ingredient in the crust, but focus on the tendrils falling out of the braid.

Again, the tendrils…

Opportunity to talk about pastry cutting, but the whole Grandpa/baby girl thing gets in the way

Add water and notice how serious the master chef is, and how seriously baby girl takes him.

Take one last picture of the process

and forget the get one of the blackberry filling, the whole pie, and the finished product, plated with ice cream.

…because there’s just too much of that girl here to be bothered with ingredients and directions.
